Project Description

Storyline

The game is set in the year 2056. Players take on the roles of astronauts from Mission 3-EVA, sent to planet A-286 to identify prospective habitats for humans. Communication with Earth is cut off when a severe dust storm damages their ship. With only five days until they run out of supplies, players must engage in a search for essential resources across the terrain of planet A-286 and fulfil their mission.

How to Play (2 - 4 Players)

This is a turn-based and collaborative game where the each player rolls the dice, then advances the game piece accordingly, and chooses a route out from that space. Each space features a light sensor. These sensors are concealed anytime a game piece advances onto and covers them. The Arduino picks up that the light sensor is covered, then responds by sending electricity to the LEDs, illuminating that space. Movement is forward only. Resources will only allow for a single journey to a supply box.

Rules

• Movement Restriction: Players may only move forward; backward movement is prohibited.

• Precise Landing: To claim a supply box, a player must roll the exact number required to land directly on its space.

• Barrier Impact: If a player's movement is obstructed by a barrier, triggering a penalty condition to all players.

• Incorrect Selection: Selecting the wrong supply box results in resource depletion, preventing the player from acquiring the intended supplies from that box.

• Victory Condition: Locating and correctly identifying the specified supply box constitutes victory.

* This is a very early pilot project for a board game, designed, developed, and created in just one week.
